The Outer Limits: The New Series - Sex and Science Fiction
Up for a little spicy sci-fi? The Outer Limits, the sci-fi cult favorite of the 1960s, spawned a popular sequel series in 1995. This collection of lusty episodes from the new show -- featuring guest stars like Alyssa Milano and Antonio Sabato, Jr. -- really gets up close and personal. Episodes include "Caught in the Act," "Bits of Love," "Valerie 23," "Human Operators," "Skin Deep" and "Flower Child."

All the stories featured good writing and excellent production values and acting. Superior work for television. The sex aspect was in all cases relevant rather than prurient or gratuitous.
These were interesting stories although the "Human Operators" was very sad.
"Human Operators" featured Polly Shannon who is heart breakingly beautiful.
Adam Goldberg is featured in "Skin Deep".
Note: There are six episodes plus special features delivered on a single two-sided disc.Generally impressive mixed bag of stories - Superdave
This grab bag of sex-themed stories plucked from various points in this anthology show's seven year run is generally pretty watchable and since it contains two of the better episodes in the run of the series, is a must for serious fans of Sci-fi TV. In the episode BITS OF LOVE, Natasha Henstridge plays a holographic computer operating system whose AI allows her to evolve emotionally. She falls in love with the system's owner (Jon Tenney), and then learns other human concepts such as retribution when he scorns her affections. This sounds cliched, but the treatment is sharp, fresh and logical, and the climax is devastating when it comes. HUMAN OPERATORS is from a story by Harlan Ellison and A.E. Van Vogt, and concerns the affairs of humans who are kept as maintenance slaves aboard former warships whose AI brains 'got wise' and found freedom by killing off most of their 'human oppressors'. Other stories concern interspecies procreation (human and plant!) and possession by an alien presence which feeds on sexual energy. These somewhat hackneyed sounding concepts are nonetheless well executed here thanks to logical and literate scripting and a serious, professional approach to building character and suspense.
