The Mack
Max Julien stars as Goldie, a sharp, smooth-talking hustler who's just been released from prison after 5 years and is determined to rule the streets Oakland once again. Armed with his witty sidekick, Slim (Richard Pryor), and his trusty brother (Roger E. Mosley), Goldie kicks off a campaign of violence to establish his return. This action-packed crime caper offers a searing yet fun look into urban street life.

The ultimate player - jagfilm
This classic blaxploitation film has been referenced by filmmakers and hip hop artists for decades, but the movie itself hasn't aged that well. Overly long, with an awkward lead performance by Max Julien who seems far too young to be playing a commanding pimp, The Mack at times feels too long and overly plotted. That said, the clothes and slang make for some memorable moments, as does an early small role by Richard Pryor.
