National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation 2: Cousin Eddie's Island Adventure
When Cousin Eddie joined Clark Griswold and his family for National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, the movie quickly becaume a holiday institution. An institution, of course, is where many think Cousin Eddie should reside. Randy Quaid again plays crude but lovable Eddie adn Miriam Flynn returns as his wife in another comic skid on the Vacation banana peel. In a way, Christmas has always been a test of survival for Eddie and his brood. And that's truer than ever when they receive an expenses-paid holiday tour of the South Pacific and end up shipwrecked on a remote island. Fred Willard, Ed Asner, Eric Idle in a zany cameo and more join in this season of comfort and joy. Which menas little comfort for Eddie. And lots of joy for Vacation fans.

You need to be stranded on a desert island with nothing else to watch to even be mildly interested in this one. It's no good, no good at all. It is a spin-off of the absolutely hilarious Christmas classic: Christmas Vacation. This one is not the same. It focuses on cousin Eddie. He is fired from his job testing atomic waste and to keep him quiet about a monkey biting him, he is given a tropical vacation. Only they get shipwrecked and some more boring stuff happens and then they get rescued.A lesson in spin-offs - MDFehr
There are times when spin-offs work, and times when they do not. This film is the latter. It is also a good example of the purpose of supporting characters. As the name implies, supporting characters play an important but diminished role to complement the main characters. As supporting characters in the Vacation films, Cousin Eddie and his family were hilarious additions, but a film of their own just doesn't work. It feels cheap and commercial. A lot of the humour of the Eddie character was rooted in the interplay between him and Clark Griswold, and without Chevy Chase the magic isn't there. Although I am a fan of Randy Quaid, and I must admit he tried in this one, this film doesn't do him justice. It looks and flows like a TV production, and a low-budget one at that. Which also makes this film a good example of how it is as much the production as the actor which determines a film's quality. Rent this if you loved the Vacation series and need to satisfy your curiosity (as I did); otherwise, don't bother.not funny at all - shawn7
BY reading the reviews people wrote, i was expecting something decently funny, but what i got wasn't funny at all, of course there was the few little thing's that made me snicker, but nothing that i found very funny at all. Plus it has very bad special effects of them on a boat. I really don't recommemd this anyone, i'd rather watch the original over and over.
