Boomerang
Director Reginald Hudlin and Eddie Murphy team up for a comedy that finds the tables turned on ladies' man Murphy when he's taken for granted by a casual lover (Robin Givens). Halle Berry plays Murphy's platonic friend. Best bit: Murphy explaining to Berry how he can tell which characters in the old "Star Trek" series are destined to die.

When left to his own design and not molested by The Film Bureaucrats, Eddie is one funny guy. Basically the movie is about Ying-Yang. Simple as that! Eddie is a womanizer and a capitalist who gets a taste of his own medicine - in a big way. Halle Berry makes her film debut here as Eddie's saviour. Great great music, truly funny rip roaring moments (like w/Earthe Kitt in the bedroom scene). Err.....not a family flick. After all, this is Eddie Murphy!My guilty pleasure. - cathyottawa
I hate to admit it, but I liked this movie. I got more than one belly laugh out of this one.
Made in 1992 (just before Eddie Murphy started sucking), it's about a ladies man who goes through women like kleenex - until he meets his match in Robin Givens modern, powerful woman.
I really liked their chemistry, and I just liked the comedy. Grace Jones gives a good supporting performance. Eartha Kitt is pretty funny. David Allen Grier of "In Living Color" fame does some good stuff.
And look for a young Halle Berry, playing a bit of a nerd (this is before she blossomed into the goddess she is now). She's quite good. You can see why her career took off after this.
