James Cameron's Expedition: Bismarck
It's another adventure on the high seas with filmmaker James Cameron. This time, however, he and Earthship TV are on an expedition to unearth the mysteries of the Bismarck, a German ship that was stranded deep in the Atlantic Ocean after sinking during battle in 1941. This documentary, which first aired on the Discovery Channel, puts a human face to a maritime tragedy of titanic proportions.

This is an excellent documentary. Cameron hit it out of the park here. This is what you want to see when an expedition goes to these wrecks. Ballards expedition of the wrecksite only lasted about 5 to 10 min of footage of the wreck. I loved how Cameron went into the wreck and analized the site. Very well doneJames Cameron's excellent in this genre! - Cricri7
I have seen Ghosts of the Abyss, also made by James Cameron, so I wanted to see this one also and was not disappointed. I liked Ghosts a bit more but this one is excellent also. He accompanies an underwater expedition, and films it, who want to find the Bismarck. This is a war vessel made by the Germans during the Second world war that was supposed to be unsinkable, well it was not.
James Cameron always goes for the human angle in his documentaries. In this one, he reunites German and English soldiers with one another. He reunites German naval officers that survived the Bismarck sinking. To help also, he incorporates animation that shows what happened when the Bismarck sank. You can see that he has a passion for underwater expeditions and he has become really knowledgeable also. His brother is always part of his crew. I always enjoy his documentaries. An excellent documentary - Blindowl
James Cameron has out done himself. I can't help but wonder, does this mean he's researching (like he did for Titanic) to do a remake of "Sink the Bismarck". If so, hurry up and make it, I can't wait.
This documentary is perfect for those who've read all the books on the subject.
