The Great White Hype
As if! The sleazy, "fixed" world of professional boxing is the target of this on-the-mark satire about a powerful black boxing promoter (Samuel Jackson, channeling the ever-loquacious Don King) who's searching for the ultimate drawing card (and box office payout) -- a championship fight with a white contender. Co-stars Jeff Goldblum, Peter Berg, Damon Wayans and Jon Lovitz. Directed by Reginald Hudlin.

Good guy loses - Neil1
Not 'the' good guy, just 'a' good guy, played perfectly by Peter Berg. And I don't know if the ending would have been any more satisfactory if he'd won, but it sure was a funny ride along the way with great comedy from Samuel L. Jackson (a true master) and Jeff Goldblum (somewhat surprisingly, since he can be annoying at times), and all in all it was just a real fun flick with great music tracks to boot. Two gloves up!
