The Wicksboro Incident
Wicksboro, Texas, doesn't exist. But to hear Lloyd Pearsall tell it in this riveting Blair Witch-like documentary, the town should be known just for that fact. According to Pearsall, a community of 75 residents vanished overnight in 1953. Since then, new zoning was implemented, and all written records of the town were destroyed in an attempt to completely erase Wicksboro from history and human memory.

mostly compelling - bigwally
This faux-documentary begins with a fascinating premise, veers too quickly into X-Files/paranoia/alien territory, then becomes a modestly successful chase movie. The aesthetic is, in some places, original but in others strongly derived from The Blair Witch Project.
