Alfred Hitchcock: Sabotage / The Lodger (Double Feature)
It's evident from this double feature that Hitchcock was master of suspense, suspicion and heart-stopping endings right from the start. Released in 1926, The Lodger is a silent film about Jonathan Drew (Ivor Novello), a secretive man who happens to arrive in London when Jack the Ripper is at his most bloodthirsty. From 1936, Sabotage is the story of a wife's (Sylvia Sydney) growing suspicion that her husband (Oscar Homolka) is a terrorist.
