I think I know why Langdon didn't keep as fame as much as the other silent comics of the twenties: he was not quite as inventive or moving as Chaplin, not quite as physically wonderous as Keaton, not quite as likeable as Lloyd. Nonetheless, he belongs in the same league as those others and his movies are always unique and captivating. The three hour long features on this disc are all strong examples of his talents and well worth watching.
I hope Zip eventually gets the recent 4 disc set of Langdon's pre-feature shorts: Lost and Found: The Harry Langdon Collection. It's a phenomenal labour of love that collects well restored versions of some of the funniest comedies ever made and includes a wonderful doc on his life and career.
