Johnny Be Good
Johnny Walker (Anthony Michael Hall) is a nice, normal teenage boy who happens be a star football player -- such a star that he's got every college in America bucking to get him on their team. As he's lured and baited with a dizzying array of extracurricular temptations, can Johnny really be good -- and stay that way? Robert Downey Jr. co-stars.

Great cast in a paint-by-numbers movie - Superdave
High school Football star is wooed by colleges which aren't above a few recruiting violations, wink wink. That's basically the whole picture. But instead of the more realistic portrait of high stakes college sports recruiting we see in Blue Chips or He Got Game, what we get here is some generic frat rat nonsense that seems left over from Revenge of the Nerds or something. None of it is convincing as either straight comedy or a satire on sports. The cast includes Anthony Michael Hall, Robert Downey Jr. and Uma Thurman, all of whom seem convincingly age appropriate as teenagers, yet the script gives them little in the way of character and not much to do. What a waste.
