If you were a fan of Twin Peaks, and stuck with it through the goofiness of its last season, the movie is a parting gift to you. It has its moments, but not many, and generally speaking it runs neck and neck with Dune as the least successful and interesting Lynch feature.CBS hit's the hammer on the nail! - movie_goer
Twin Peaks is as good as cable shows get, with dramatic plots, Captivating Characters and a Mysterious darkness that luminates itself over a small town... The 2 hour Pilot is worth the long watch, as is any excellent murder mystery you'd find in a steven king novel. It takes persecion and caution.
Kyle MacLaclan maybe best known to me for his role in HBO's hit series Sex & The City with his characters well known lack of 'abilities' in bed. However In Twin Peaks he's an optimistic, oddball FBI agent deteremined to catch his killers. And anything but lacking ability's in his performance. If only network TV were always this good... - Sushi
Even though the series is over 15 years old now, it's STILL visually stunning, incredibly moving, sexy, and provocative. The idea starts simply enough: a TV murder mystery, set in a small town. But of course, there's more than meets the eye, if you're willing to look beneath the surface.
You don't need to be a die-hard Lynch fan like I am to enjoy Twin Peaks. However, it helps to know that ABC pressured Lynch to refrain from using his (ironically, hugely popular) storytelling techniques and "wrap up" the Laura Palmer case. Sadly, this led Lynch to leave the show, after which the series took a definite downturn. Lynch returned to write and direct the controversial final episode, which concluded the best damn show that ever was on television. As Dale Cooper might have said, "This must be where TV shows go when they die."
Frankly, I'm surprised Twin Peaks was on TV at all, simply because it was so good! Rent them all today!
