Adrenaline Rush: The Science of Risk
Take a thrilling look at the world of skydiving and base jumping - parachuting from a building, a bridge or a cliff. With breathtaking views of skydiving over the Florida Keys, the Mojave Desert and the magnificent Fjords of Norway, this giant-screen experience explores the psychological and physiological forces behind risk-tasking and the physics involved in high-risk activities. The film follows two top risk-takers, Adrian Nicholas and Katarina Ollikainen, as they try to fly the first parachute ever designed as imagined in 1485 by Leonardo da Vinci. Thanks to a camera strapped to one of the professional jumpers who took part in the film, you can also live through a 4,265-foot jump from a legendary Norwegian cliff. Exhibited in IMAX and other giant-screen theatres around the world, this film has been specially mixed and mastered to produce an outstanding DTS Digital Surround and Dolby Digital 5.1 home theatre experience.

Why do people take risks? - fairweather
Have you always wondered why some people will avoid danger and others take the risk? It underlies what motivates the entrepreneur, inventor and pioneer. This documentary explains why risk takers take the risks they do, and shows extreme examples of people who are "addicted" to the rush of adrenaline they get from extreme activities. The footage is excellent and the documentary commentary and music are also very good. Having jumped 17 times from an airplane (skydiving) myself, I was curious as to what motivated me to do so. This gave some solid answers, but the ultimate thrill for me which settled and satisfied my wayward heart's cravings was becoming a Christian. The spiritual isn't touched on in the documentary, but it has a bearing on those looking into the rush of such extremes and why people choose to take such risks. An interesting documentary which explains the physical, emotional and mental side of such risk taking activity, it is well worth zipping. (Note to extreme risk takers - Walking with God can be far beyond the ULTIMATE in rush experience, in case you were never told - I thought God boring once, too.)
