Love Comes Softly
Based on Janette Oke's best-selling book series, and directed by Michael Landon Jr., Love Comes Softly is inspired storytelling for the whole family. Marty and Aaron Claridge (Katherine Heigl and Oliver Macready) travel west in search of new opportunity. But when tragedy strikes and Marty is suddenly widowed, the young woman must face the rugged terrain, bleak weather, and life among strangers - alone. That is until a handsome widower named Clark Davis (Dale Midkiff) suggests a platonic "marriage of convenience" until Marty can return home. As the months pass, though, Marty and Clark discover an unexpected new love where there was once only loss.

Good movie - Fudgeflaps
I never really thought of this as a family movie, but it's certainly suitable for children. I had always assumed it was meant for adults, though children could watch it. There's nothing they shouldn't see.
The story is simple, about a suddenly widowed woman who marries a man for the winter, moves in with him and his bitter and somewhat resentful ten-year-old daughter, but then really falls in love.A sweet family movie - palmtree
A movie about simpler times and family values. A marriage of convenience becomes a marriage of love, eventually. It is very "clean" family movie; no naughty bits. You can watch this one with the whole family, from grandparents to kids. A family faces trials of life in horse and buggy times, and grows together in love. A sweet, simple movie. A tiny bit religious, as one of the characters is a pastor.Heart warming - Magician780
It is comforting to see the son of Michael Landon carry on his father's work in some way. I give this movie a high review simply because it is clean and carries good values, which is rare and priceless by today's standards. This movie contains beautiful imagery and some surprisingly profound dialogue above my expectations.
