Coogan's Bluff
In this classic action thriller, Clint Eastwood is the cool and collected Walt Coogan, a cop who has left his small Arizona hometown for the raucous city of New York to bring back a prisoner, James Ringerman (Don Stroud). But when Coogan is caught in a rare moment of weakness, Ringerman gets the better of him and escapes. Now, Coogan must walk the unfamiliar and sometimes dangerous streets to hunt him down, no matter what it takes.

A Younger Eastwood - Ilania
Director Don Siegel who directed a few other movies with Clint Eastwood, did a good job, so did Clint Eastwood, and Lee J. Cobb, however, the story is a bit déjà vu. Perhaps it was more interesting in 1968, before the avalanche of police and marshal stories hit the screen on both film and television. It was a pleasure to see Clint Eastwood and Lee J. Cobb share the screen.Fish out of water - Poet
Coogan's Bluff has its qualities as a movie, but it is definitely not Eastwood's best offering of that era.
There are a few interesting scenes in this one. We could mention the pool room fight or the psychedelic club.
Unfortunately, Clint looked a little too much like a fish out of water here, especially while pulling that womanizing cowboy. Seeing the man with no name trying to charm these women, it just seemed un-natural.
Some other scenes were just totally unbelievable also. But, still, the movie made for good entertainment on a night where one doesn't want to think too much.
