Getting Away with Murder
Jack Lambert (Dan Aykroyd) is convinced that his neighbor Max Mueller (Jack Lemmon) is a Nazi who inflicted pain on many people during the Holocaust. Sure of Mueller's identity, Jack concocts a scheme to poison the old man to make him pay for his horrible deeds. Before he carries out his plan, however, he discovers that Max isn't a criminal after all and marries Max's daughter out of guilt. But can he really be so sure that Max is innocent?

Dan Aykroyd plays...Dan Aykroyd! - FlinFlonDiesel
What a movie that was... This was rented because I've always been a Jack Lemmon fan and, given the ethical issue of war crimes (do they only become crimes after the war is done, how subjective is the term, etc) that has been the subject of eternal debate, thought this would be interesting. Jack Lemmon's role was surprisingly minor given his central role, and Dan Akyroyd, well, should have ended his career with the movie Spies Like Us (where he actually acted...). This was a bit of a time waster, the sort of movie one watches when all other alternatives have been exhausted (ablutions, nail filing and the submitting of income tax returns).
While I didn't feel that I had necessarily been scarred for life after seeing this, I certainly do miss the money it cost to rent.
However, if you are interested in seeing Lily Tomlin play the singularly most bizarre role of her entire acting career, this would probably be a good specimen.
Consider yourself warned.
