Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle
The Extreme Unrated Version.
In the great cinematic tradition of "Road Trip" and "Dude, Where’s My Car?" comes "Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle," which follows two likeable underdogs who set out on a Friday night quest to satisfy their craving for White Castle hamburgers and end up on an epic journey of deep thoughts, deeper inhaling and a wild road trip as “un-PC” as it gets.

Perhaps i'd enjoy this if I was actually High - movie_goer
Ridiculously insane, Outlandish storyline and well... lacking the laugh factor!
I never expected an Oscar worthy performance but I did hope for a handful of laughs that were absent in 3/4 of the film. With the exception of the memoriable college bathroom scene. The Slip of the tongue and useage of "Battleship communo" it was neither horrible or Great. The Jokes were recycled from bad teen movies and classics like Animal House and Blues Brothers- it almost seemed insulting to mock. It's all about expectations - KevinJaques
The trailer looked abysmal. So people were pleasantly surprised and overrated it. So I was disappointed and a bit disgruntled.
It's a celebration of pot and pot values. Otherwise, it is pleasant enough. The protagonists are basically nice, they get into non-threatening problems, and it turns out nice. There are a few amusing parts, but none of our group actually laughed out loud. Probably if we had been stoned it would have worked better.
There was one clever bit. There was an abrupt scene change, then a distraction. Once the distraction passed, we all thought, "How did we get here?" which is the classic thought when people are high. Then the characters said, "How did we get here?" It was a clever way to make the audience feel they were really joining in on the stoned odyssey. What fun! - rockmorton
I wasn't expecting much when I rented this. I waited to rent it because the trailer didnt excite me when it was in theaters. You know the drill.I found this to be a cool surprise.
The characters are likeable enough, with quite a few laugh out loud scenes. The story is simple. Two guys who like to get stoned (not "stoners" though) see a White Castle commercial and set out to find one. The closest one is in another state.
Along the way they meet a rather large group of characters and situations. The neat thing about this is that each situation helps change and develop the characters as well as bring them closer as friends.
Beware, some of the situations are strange. I, personally, found this to be in line with the whole "stoner" thing, but even with that, a couple of the scenes are WAY over the top.
Probably the most hilarious surprise was Neil Patrick Harris' performance. Every time he was on screen, I almost fell out of my chair laughing. He plays a extremely vulgar version of himself. He stole the movie in my opinion.
If you like over the top humor that sometimes goes to far, but still has a sweet nature to it, I think you'll like this movie. Just don't watch it with Mom or Grandma. Ha ha.
