We watched this with our kids.....great conversation starter. We watched it in two sittings to allow for some discussion and further research. Really got us all thinking about how all the churches became so separate.....and how they continue to be so.An accurate and honest protayal - NickyGirl
For one who looks to understand the evolution of Christianty, this a very good point to start. In a not-to-melodramatic script and a somber production, Luther's life and his challenges in this religion-fearing era are well illustrated by a good performance by all the cast.A decent message. - Yemalla
As far as movies go, I liked it. I admit that I do not know enough about Luther to comment on the historical accuracy, but the story was good. Almost certainly, things were censored by the producers (The Lutherans), so there is an excellent chance that the story was slanted in their favour. So be it. If you want to know the real story about Martin Luther, look it up. If you want to watch a decent movie with a decent message, watch this one. I can't help but root for anyone who exposes the corruption of the Catholic church. But that's just my opinion.
