How much blood would you shed to stay alive?
Two strangers awaken, chained side-by-side to the wall of a filthy bathroom. Neither knows how they came to this awful predicament, nor what might await them. But the man lying on the floor and missing part of his head might be a clue. Better the first time around - Mandysdemons
Although, i still like this movie it is much scarier the first time you see it.
The surprises and twists are truely scary at first but when you go back and rewatch it, knowing what is going to happen, it loses alot of the fear element.
Still a great movie though.Disturbing and fantastic! - Daystar
Saw is one of the most unique horror movies I have ever seen. The constant twists and turns keep you on the edge of your seat. I will never forget my first reaction to the ending of this movie. It absolutely blew my mind! You will keep guessing and guessing throughout the movie and just when you think you have it all figured out you get thrown for yet another loop. I absolutely love Saw.Disturbingly great - joycough
Maybe Slight Spoilers:
And they said that American/Canadian horror/thriller movies were dead. They had to start pumping Japanese cimema for inspiration (The Ring and The Grudge both American remakes of Japanese horror/thriller films). This film proves them wrong. It is by far the scarriest and best thriller since Seven. However, if I'm going to compare it to Seven I'd have to say Seven was a better movie all around as it was a smarter movie, Saw was scarier though.
This movie has a psychopath kidnapping people and putting them through hell. If they survive they get the gift of enjoying life, if not they die in an intricate trap, which he has set out perfectly. Each time is completely different and each have something that personalizes it to each person. One who survived this "game" claimed that the "killer" (technically he's not a killer as he doesn't actually kill anyone) saved her life.
This movie is suspenseful throughout and keeps one guessing about the killers identity. Glad to see that it stays true to the genre's formula with regards to the killer...You'll have to see it to understand my cryptic writing. I personally loved this movie, but I had to turn the lights on after and check the entire apartment, which I'm sure you'll have to do too. This movie isn't recomended for people with small children (under 14) or those who are faint of heart.
