The Ringer
Make it special.
Desperate for dough to help a pal erase a gaming debt, lowlife Steve Barker (Johnny Knoxville) plots with his buddy to rig the Special Olympics. The plan: Steve will masquerade as a competitor in the hope of unseating the high-and-mighty reigning champ, Jimmy. Some of the other contestants recognize Steve as a fake, but because they'd also like to see Jimmy fail, they go all out to help the imposter prevail.

A friend watched this and said it was a must watch... Well, it was at least watchable...
It's your standard low-key comedy, with an attempt at romance. A couple of actual funny lines, mostly dumb (no pun intended) comedy, and a completely see through plot.
Could have done a lot worse, but I still wasn't thriller that I'd just spent money on this (it's more a tv type watch in my mind). What a change!! - bubbly_g
Well Johnny Knoxville sure made a change for this movie. I thought the movie was great. They were very respectable of the mentally handicapped, if anything they made the movie better. It was full of laughs and morally it was wrong but in the end it all works out. Great movie!!not at all a jackass - blec
I usually hate Johnny knoxville but i absolutely loved him in this movie. I would like to think that his character represents the way he really behaves in the fact of befriending and sticking up for the disavantaged. This movie was great i especially liked Greg with the 8 fingers joke. He reaaly did a great job of acting challenged, And I loved the mention of Canada being that he is Canadian. you can see him in Men with brooms.
