Blame It On The Bellboy
Messrs Lawton (a hit-man), Horton (expecting some middle-aged dating agency nooky) and Orton (checking out properties for his boss) converge on the Hotel Gabriella in Venice. Linguistic mix-ups by the staff mean each of the trio get wrong instructions for the next day. So Horton meets up with puzzled estate agent Caroline to see what she's offering, Orton attempts to make a gang of hoods an offer they can't refuse on their villa, while Lawton sets off to rub out a lonely-hearts lady from Huddersfield.

Is it the film, the critics or me? - peter4
Having watched (and thoroughly enjoyed) this movie, then read the critics' reviews of it which are peppered with words like "leaden", "strained", "tiresome" and "the end doesn't come too soon" I was left wondering whether we were reviewing the same movie or, indeed, living on the same planet. Come on critics, get real, this is not Shakespeare nor is it intended to be. It is a harmless and (I thought) enjoyable farce based on mistaken identities in a Venice hotel, although some scenes of graphic violence I felt were a bit out of place and make it unsuitable for children. If you like 1970's style British farce with sexual innuendo (e.g. Benny Hill, Les Dawson, Dick Emery, although none of the above appear in it) you'll enjoy this. On the other hand, if you only enjoy Shakespeare, you won't enjoy this so don't bother watching it and definitely don't bother reviewing it.
