Ali G Indahouse: The Movie
Ali G, HBO's hottest comedy sensation, stars in his side-splitting, outrageously funny feature film debut - Ali G Indahouse!
The hip-hopping, white gangsta-rapper wannabe gets entangled in the evil Chancellor's plot to overthrow the Prime Minister of Great Britain (Michael Gambon, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban). But, instead of bringing the Prime Minister down, Ali is embraced by the nation as the voice of youth and "realness," making the Prime Minister and his government more popular than ever.

Don't bother. Crass, boring, unfunnny and lewd anti every-thing attempt at humour best left unwatched. This film would be a hit for adolescents. Fortunatly, Ali G carries a rating that prevents it from being available for rent to those under eighteen. One can only hope that Mr. Cohen will be retiring soon with his millions to pursue a private life of completle idleness.Sacha's improved his writing skills since this! - brat72
I loved Borat. It was one of those rare comedies that made my face hurt from laughing so hard. He's obviously found better writing partners or honed his own skills a lot because this pre-Borat movie is lame. It's totally juvenile in the worst sense of the word and only a few scenes were actually funny. I watched most of it but must admit I turned it off towards the end. Perhaps it has a hilarious finale but I suspected it would just be cliched frathouse humour like the rest of it.Doesn't make the transition well - wienerdog
I like the Ali G Show. Ali G is a clever character and Borat and Bruno are even better. But the TV show is not a sitcom, nor is it a sketch show. The show is ambush comedy, and it is funny because of the way it embarrasses unwitting guests (most of whom should have known better and done their homework) and, often, exposes beliefs and views that the duped interviewees would normally try to downplay or sugar coat.
Borat took the M.O. of the TV show and turned it in to a feature movie, which worked well. But this movie is just a gag movie, with a far-fetched plot and, truth be told, pretty bog standard writing. Ali G works as a fake interviewer, and might transfer alright to sketch comedy, but what makes Ali G worth watching in the TV show is basically lacking in the movie.
If you know the Ali G character, some of the jokes are kind of funny, but the humour quickly wears thin and the movie isn't all that much better than any standard "outrageous comedy" that Hollywood produces by the truckload.
