John Carpenter brings Stephen King's best-selling novel to life in this chilling thriller
She was born in Detroit...on an automobile assembly line. But she is no ordinary automobile. Deep within her chassis lives an unholy presence. She is CHRISTINE - a red and white 1958 Plymouth Fury whose unique standard equipment includes an evil, indestructible vengeance that will destroy anyone in her way. She seduces 17-year-old Arnie Cunningman (Keith Gordon), who becomes consumed with passion for her sleek, rounded chrome-laden body. She demands his complete and unquestioned devotion and when outsiders seek to interfere, they become the victims of Christine's horrifying wrath.

Christine, like many other movies adapted from Stephen King novels, provides the director with a solid foundation for their story line. John Carpenter did a pretty good job to not stray far from the original plot. If you're a Stephen King fan, you shouldn't be disappointed.Very good thriller - Coconut_Willy
John Carpenter meets Stephen King in this very well made movie. Usually, when you give a good story and some budget to a good director, you get a good movie and this is certainly the case here. The storyline is original as it's a bit unusual to have a possessed car as one of the main character but it is presented in a way that you certainly view Christine as a person as the film goes on. This is certainly not an easy feat to accomplish and it is quite successful here. The cast is pretty good doing a good acting job (I particularily liked the Arnie character) with a well written dialogue. The sets and locations, the soundtrack, the camera work are all top notch with some excellent special effects. Highly recommended to everyone.
This Special Edition is of very good quality with tons of extras and should be the preferred one if you intend to rent it.
