Elton is a great performer, song writer and singer. There was no need for him to invite so many guest singers. Kiki Dee was good because he did a song with her, but the others didnt need to be there. I would of preferred to see Elton doing his songs. Even though there were many guests I still enjoyed this concert. No Cranky Elton Here - Shawn1
One Night Only- The Greatest Hits is pretty self-explanatory; a good concert of Elton ripping through his best-known songs with all the showmanship he’s known for. As expected, the show’s professionally executed, but Elton keeps the mood fun and the guests brought on keep the quality at a high level, especially Mary J. Blige’s duet on “I Guess That’s Why They Call It The Blues.” The only drawback is that sometimes the concert feels disjointed, particularly in the final song with Kiki Dee that abruptly ends the show, probably from the editing of two concerts together (shouldn't it be called Two Nights Only then?). At 27 songs over 2 ½ hours, this concert covers all the bases and then some. The included music video with Robert Downey Jr. is a nice add-on as well.Essential Elton John - ross2
Even if you're not an Elton John fan, they have assembled a terrific package here - I think every major hit he has ever had is included - and done a great job! Special guests, such as Billy Joel, give a different interpretation of some of Elton's most famous hits.
