The extraordinary computer-animated series of life within a computer. The mouth-watering animation, riotous humour, infinitely-variable action and scenery, and intelligent use of every computer reference known, combine to produce a stunning universe where good constantly fights the forces of evil. Dot Matrix and her brother Enzo, plus thousands of friendly binomes, live in Mainframe, which is plagued by viruses Megabyte and sister strain Hexadecimal. Guardian Bob is sent from the Net to protect them, and soon makes it his home. Together, they must prevent Megabyte from taking control of all the systems. As an added complication, games being played by the mystical User invade the system regularly, and must be defeated, or else portions of the city are laid waste... this gives us a chance to see every genre of video-game ever conceived, from the point of view of the characters! When Megabyte finally manages to banish Bob, Enzo takes over as the city's Guardian, but things will never be quite the same. This is the first ever show/movie to be totally C.G 4out5 starsExcellent CGI Movies - kav2001c
A pair of movies which comprised the shows finale
Daemon Rising contains the story of Daemon, a supervirus who is bent on taking over the net
The Guardians are unable to stop her (most getting taken over in the process) and Bob looks to an old "friend" who can fight at Daemons level
My Two Bobs is odd as when everyone thinks everything is over and they can now settle down... another Bob shows up (this one is more similiar to the original, not like the more experianced web traveller)
Now everyone is trying to find out who copied who (and trying to stop a mystery guest who crashes Bobs wedding...)Is that your pussy, Mrs Slocombe? - Garugh
If you were hoping that this lived up to the TV series........then you should rent it because it did just that and then some.
While I didn't see every episode that aired I did see enough to know that I liked the show.
Daemon Rising/My Two Bobs was greatly enjoyable.
The animation was of course incredible but what really makes it entertaining is the voice acting and the many TV culture references. You may not get them all but the viewer will recognize many lines or characters for other TV programs from "The Blues Brothers" and "A-Team" to the BBC program "Are You Being Served?".
While the DVD was very enjoyable....if you didn't follow the series near the end of its run you find yourself asking where did this character come from or how did this happen.
The only disappointment I had was the second feature "My Two Bobs" basically ended with a "to be continued", and since there are no other DVD's after this on Zip I am forced to conclude that the Company that makes them stopped doing so.
