Go Further
"Go Further", the new film by award-winning documentary filmmaker Ron Mann, explores the idea that the single individual is the key to large-scale transformational change. The film follows actor Woody Harrelson as he takes a small group of friends on a bio-fuelled bus-ride down the Pacific Coast Highway. Their goal? To show the people they encounter that there are viable alternatives to our habitual, environmentally-destructive behaviors. The travellers include a yoga-teacher, a raw food chef, a hemp-activist, a junk-food addict, and a college student who suspends her life to impulsively hop aboard. We see the hostility these pilgrims encounter, and watch as their ideas are challenged from within and without. We meet an entrepreneur who runs a paper company that does not harm trees; an organic farmer who believes Nature is his partner; a man who teaches environmental activists to use humor as a strategic weapon. And throughout, we see Harrelson test his belief that the transformation of our planet begins with the small personal transformations that are within the grasp of each and every one of us, after which... we'll go further.

This is the worst movie on sustainable living that I have ever seen. It could have been a powerful message but It is not a documentary, rather like a badly made home movie.
It doesn't address or explain the topics such as Bio diesel, Raw food, etc.
What do the people in the truck who sniff glue have to do with the rest?
I think it is quite pointless and should be removed from your list.awful - oriana
The only reason I rented this is because it advertised Dave Matthews as being a main person in it. Well he isn't. He sang a song during the credits. None of the musicians that are advertised are in the movie-they just show clips of them while their songs play for a min. It is a crappy film with no purpose and no real information on the topics that are brought up. They do things like have Woody say 'clear cutting is bad' in front of a group of people, they all cheer, then that's the end of it. How is that education? You Love It or Hate It. "Go Further" chronicals a trip in a bus from Seattle to Los Angeles. The purpose of the trip is to promote "Sustainable Lifestyle" and is headlined by star, Woody Harrelson. While on the trip, the participants will cycle part of the way, eat organic food, drive a bus fueled by biodiesel, and deliver speaches promoting sustainable lifestyle at colleges and universities.
It is certainly a noble gesture find alternate and sustainable ways to live (since fossil fuels will not be around to generate our energy needs forever).
The doc talks about things such as biodeisel, organic food, hemp clothes, hemp paper and "Worm Tea" -- but we never hear much in the way of facts. You know ... how would this stack up against conventional products in the real world?
Instead, Woody Harrelson (who I am not disappointed has about 15% of the screen time in this feature), tells everyone who will listen that milk and milk productions contain, "blood and puss".
Of course, they do smoke hemp in the film -- although the tie-in for how this relates to a healthy lifestyle is never explained. After cutting out cigarettes and chocolate in favour of algae ... you would think there would be some concern for smoking pot,
This documentary should have been titled, "The World According to Woody". This is the wrong guy pushing a good message. Rent at your own risk.
