Yes, the pace is slow. Yes, there is no action, just dialogue and beautiful images. It has Robert Lepage written all over it, with long scenes and long close-ups revealing one million emotions on a person's face.

Not only the action is slow, but the way the actors talk, is slow too. This all makes for a very intense movie, with a storyline that is at first confusing, but who with time, we come to comprehend. Some brilliant moments in the script and in the directing...

You have to be a fan of Lepage to appreciate this movie, because it really is not for the action-packed movie fan. There are a few flaws true, but they don't decrease the value of the movie.

You are slowly dragged along a man's parallel lives, simultaneously, and I loved the fact that you don't really know, with each new scene, which world you're in, for a few seconds. At one point the two worlds collide and that makes for another brilliant moment in the movie.

Bottom line, if you're a Lepage fan you'll adore, if not, you must be able to appreciate a movie with a slow pace. It is simply a beautiful work of art, not a thrill-seeker.

YAWN *** - MXLX3

This film has a lofty idea - but can't pull it off with a contrived script and a slooooowwwww pace. It is very very difficult to sit throught to the end of this film. And the actors all seem to be reading their scripts from a teleprompter off camera. The fact that this film garnered several Genie nominations shows what a sad state the Canadian indie film business is in.

Boring! - JFROUTH

The story is thin, The end punch? I saw it coming from miles... I Watched it because of Robert Lepage direction, but other Lepage movies where he is more involved (Dark side of the moon, No) are much better. The transition between scenes are really special, which is caracteristik of Lepage`s work. But there is no tempo, no tension, no trill.
