Lewis Black: Black On Broadway
The outrageous comedian/author/playwright/pundit Lewis Black, most recently a correspondent on the Emmy-winning The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, stars in his first HBO solo special, Lewis Black: Black on Broadway. This is a riotous, turbo-charged hours of no-holds-barred stand-up comedy taped before a live audience at the Brooks Atkinson Theater in New York City.
Nothing is sacred when Black hits the Broadway stage, as he takes on disparate issues like homeland security, tax-cut benefits, international travel and Martha Stewart. Lewis Black: Black on Broadway is a hilarious, laser-sharp performance that will leave you gasping for air.

I was a big fan of Lewis Black's manic contributions to "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," as well as his acerbic commentary on modern life. But I have to admit: "Black on Broadway" might have been too much of a good thing. It's fitfully entertaining, but over the course of an entire show, Black's screeching began to grate on me. He's better in small doses.Black On Black - CharleyJames
Lewis Black is superb doing what every good, topical comic is supposed to do: Use humour to hold a mirror up so we can see ourselves.
As an American who's lived in Canada since the early 1990s, Black's take on US politics, its health care system (nor non-system), and society makes me laugh and cry at the same time. I never know if the tears running down my face when I watch him are from ecstacy or agony.
This concert was recorded during the Bush reigh of terror and, in the intervening years, Black has become even more acerbic as his occasional appearances on The Daily Show attest. Still, this HBO special is hysterically funny, biting, and true.Black Never Disappoints - Kimmy
No one can make me laugh out loud and want to cry at the same time like Lewis Black. Black's brutally accurate account of US politics and the reason he is such a fitting member of the Daily Show team are highlighted here. This is what stand-up comedy is all about. The abundant use of the f-shot and sexual references may offend some. Luckily, I'm not one of them. I loved this!
