This movie could have been good, in fact it could have been really good. Annabella Sciorra could have had a better role, she is the only "good" actress in the movie. The host has an unbearable fake British accent. I would go so far as to say that the host's role ruins the whole movie... the guy was trying to sound like Robert Stack from unsolved mysteries... During the movie, I was thinking about Annabella, who has been in some pretty good movies such as the hand that rocks the cradle and the Sopranos. I was wondering what she thought as she was watching this bozo trying to act. Was she thinking man this guy sucks (I Hope and truly believe) or was she thinking man this guy is talented (which scares me). Aside for the acting the movie is ok.American Crime - deedee
I am holding up a sign with two words on it. Odious Dreck. The self-conscious, and super stylized camera work was interesting for about half an hour, but Cary Elwess' outlandish performance as the sleazy journalist (think Robin Leech, a la Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous) just kept sending us flying into racking peals of laughter. Hard to believe anyone could botch an English accent so badly. And, if you like even a meagre serving of script, plot, suspense and direction, then pass up on this crime of a film.
