Magic Voyage Of Sinbad / The Day The Earth Froze (Double Feature)
It's a double feature of fantasy and spectacle from American International Pictures, which imported a series of foreign films in the early 1960s packed with eye-popping special effects, strange storylines and breathtaking color. Thus came The Day the Earth Froze, in which a witch freezes the world until she achieves her evil desires. Producer Roger Corman also recruited director Francis Ford Coppola to redub and recut a Russian film into The Magic Voyage of Sinbad, a feast of miraculous visuals and lavish settings bound to please every fantasy enthusiast.

The worst Sinbad movie ever made is not without a certain degree of style. There are a few wonderfully surreal scenes, a treacherous phoenix locked within the fantastical walls of a Raja's palace is especially well done, but the film is ruined again and again by horrendous dubbing, bad matte screen backdrops and primitive special effects....a toy boat filled with stick dolls floating in a choppy bathtub left us howling! Keep an eye out for the MST3K version of this Russian turkey.Magic Voyage of Sinbad - Gene
Somewhat of a corny show but the filming, costumes, props were very different. There were unique settings shown. The funnier parts are apparent such as Sinbad's hand gestures and the look on the bird-womans face. It was interesting if you like some very unique movies sets and costumes.Sinbad - a true classic - Jazztimes
This movie pales compare to todays technology and computer graphics, but what it does show is the hardships and challenges our great grandparents endured. It is amazing how one person can make a difference by beieving in his convictions. The visual, although rough and pasted together, is quite stunning when you look at the locations and how the people lived back in that time. If your looking for a highly explosive movie, this is not for you. If you are into time period movies with limited props and a unique way of shooting movie with limited technology, then this should interest you.
