Adorable Fairy Tale - Hiku
Another favorite from this studio and I highly recommend it for the whole family. This movie makes you wonder if this is where cats go when they disapear for days on end.
Cute cats, charming characters, beautifully animated and a heart-warming story from beginning to end.
Action, adventure, romance: a perfect kitty fairy tale that is definatly one for your collection.Great family film - Ronni
I picked this one because I loved the creator's other film "Spirited Away". This one isn't as long or as deep, but it's a great movie for the whole family to watch. The cat worlds did seem real and believable if you just remember that this is fantasy. The music was fantastic as was the artwork.Um yeah. . . great for kids - PONYBOT

Hmmmm. How to rate a Miyazaki. Of course the animation is amazing. It is the real reason to watch a Miyazaki. Unfortunately, the story is quite questionable. I am all for manimals, but this cat theme is just too weird. I think a lot got lost in the translation and 3 seperate cat universes is too weird. I'm also not sure about the ending. All in all there are some Disney-esque themes of trusting in yourself and relying on animals - but I didn't really like the characters or their actions. Recommended only for little kids, Miyazaki-fans, and maybe if you are buzzed this might make sense.
The video is great. Good Disney transfer with all these little Miyazaki touches. Crazy angles, fast motion, crazy colours. Miyazaki is a genius.
The audio is standard. You might be surprised who the English voice actors are. I only watched with English audio because the subtitles were horrible. Anne Hathaway, Andy Richter, Odo from DS9, Judy Greer, Peter Boyle. Disney pulls all the stops for voice talent. Boyle as Muta steals the show. Unfortunately, no cool surround effects or super bass.
