Nausicaa Of The Valley Of The Wind
Miyazaki's Epic Masterpiece
In the tradition of J.R.R. Tolkien comes an epic tale created by world-renowned animator Hayao Miyazaki. This is the coming-of-age tale of Nausicaa, a compassionate princess warrior striving to negotiate peace between kingdoms battling over the last of the planet's precious natural resources.

This early cinematic masterpiece establishes many of the themes--including female power and concern for a ravaged environment--that director Hayao Miyazaki will later explore again in PRINCESS MONONOKE and SPIRITED AWAY. Those films are perhaps better known, but NAUSICAA is at least as potent.
This film's philosophical stance that disputes are best resolved through communication (rather than violence) makes it truly edifying entertainment.
Score: 10 out of 10.The best (couldn't get better then this!) - movie_goer
"Where Imagination and the impossible come together to create magical art. Nausciaa captures the rarity that only a handful of humans will ever experiecnce among wildlife (the rare friendship between beast and man)!"
Before Hayao Miyazaki got his reputal introductory to the wonderful realm of fame. At a time when Spirited Away was just a growing idea in his head. Nausicaa was Miyazaki Masterpiece. The art that was way before it's time and a haunting message that warns human of there carelss actions. It's rather alarming that few have understood the concept of there actions. The Best in Animation - T-Bar
Anyone who is already a fan of Miyazaki doesn't need this review. He is the current master of imagination and wonder in the field of animation.
This tale of environmental disaster and human longing is another thrilling, epic tale that provides satisfaction to the eye and the heart.
While Spirited Away is still his masterpiece(so far) Nausicaa also stands as a fine family film full of startling images, adventure and humanity.
The recent flood of computer animated films only reinforces the foundation behind the best animation - it's not the technology, it's the story. In all of his films Miyazaki relies on a captivating story.
Well worth seeing.
