It Happened To Jane
The Romantic Comedy Classic That Goes Straight To The Heart!
In this classic romantic comedy, Jane Osgood (Doris Day), a single mom with two children, is in the live lobster business. But when her first big order for the Marshall Town Country Club turns up dead through no fault of her own, it kills her chances for a successful season. Discovering budget cuts at the railroad are to blame, she turns to George Denham (Jack Lemmon), her longtime admirer and an attorney, to seek compensations from the railroad’s tyrannical owner, Harry Foster Malone (Ernie Kovacs). Jane wins in her local courthouse, but Malone agrees to pay only for the lobsters, not damages. She refuses his offer on principle and the battle is on. The press has a field day with this modern-day David and Goliath story. And the whole country turns to Cape Anne, Maine, to watch as one woman stands up to "the meanest man in the world." It could happen to anyone, but...It Happened To Jane.

Light Comedy! - Whirlwind
Have to agree with the previous reviews. This might not be the best combination for Doris Day and Jack Lemmon and I'm not sure how the title relates to the movie. But if you like both of these stars and you like comedy shows of a family nature, this is worth seeing.Alittle strange but kinda worth a look... - movie_goer
Looking very, very closely Small glimpse's of humor can be spotted in the wannabe comedy. when it gets down to the bases of what the movies message is i'm at a lost. Somewhere between The fight for Trains and lobsters my attention span wonders off... because the reality of this movie is false and most unlikely.
It Happen to Jane stars: Doris Day and Jack Lemmon, 2 actors who are an unlikely duo and lack the connection of convincing us they enjoy each others company.
The movie itself is predictable, and obviously made for family enjoyment.Very family oriented humour - Film_Junkie
This is another of Doris Day's many comedy features. I wouldn't say that it's one of her best, but it is sort of a fun family oriented movie, with 60's type humour. If you want some very light entertainment, something that you can watch with kids under 10 (maybe 12), then give this a try. It would help if you are either a Doris Day or Jack Lemmon fan!
