Red Green: Duct Tape Virtuoso Deluxe
To me, technology is a subversive plot by all the geeks of the world to complicate our lives to the point where we become as useless as they are. Man's basic needs are food, clothing and shelter. Not food, clothing, shelter and a 600 MZ CPU with 128 megs of RAM and a 32-gigabyte hard drive. I wish they'd just leave us all alone. If life is to simple for you, get married.
Up here at Possum Lodge, we have our own rules about technology: "If you're standing in a puddle, don't touch anything that hums', and 'Don't trust anything that has no moving parts. Especially if it's a relative.' But I decided to bend our rules a bit when I mad this DVD because it gave me a chance to use the Handyman's Secret Weapon -- Duct Tape -- and it gives you a chance to get a new Red Green show you won't be embarrassed to display on your video shelf because the edge is so small, no one will be able to tell what it is! So grab a cold beverage, your DVD remote, and go nuts. I did. -Red

I Love Red Green, But - Me_Myself_and_I
I love this show, one of my all time favorites. Here Red put together a montage of handyman's corner clips where he uses duct tape. Many good moments, gave me a good laugh even though I had already seen about 60% of them. There are a few good extras as well, Duct Tape tour, some Behind the scenes. The only problems I had was that the menus were a little annoying, and, at least on my machine, I HAD to press Play on the icons; if I pressed the enter button, the disk froze. Secondly, I was hoping to see a few more behind the scenes footage, these consisting solely of Steve on a Chair giving about a 1 minute spiel on 7 select clips. There was only about 1 hour and 15 minutes of footage on the whole disk, leaving a lot of room for some more behind the scenes looks at the show. Another, obvious problem is that the disk itself is, as I mentioned, comprised of clips from different episodes. This means if you've been watching the show for a while, you've probably already seen them all, plus, since they're just random clips, it doesn't do much in the way of being a collectors edition. I gave the DVD 3/5, just because I love the show. If rating solely on features and user friendliness, I would have to go 2/5. Although I haven't seen his other disks, it is possible they are the way to go, or else, just watch the episodes on TV.
