The Crying Game
The Crying Game is the unpredictable, unconventional, multi-Oscar nominated masterpiece that has become the sleeper hit of the year. Starring Stephen Rea and Miranda Richardson as Irish terrorists, Forest Whitaker and their hostage, and Jaye Davidson as Whitaker's exotic girlfriend, the film is a haunting, humorous and shocking romantic thriller. Never has a motion picture undermined viewer expectations so thoroughly and enjoyably.

I thought there would be more action in this movie, but it was more drama than anything. I rented this movie because someone suggested that had I not see it, to see it. I kind of guessed what was going to happen, however I am kind of confused over the development. All in all I say to Zip it, it's worth the watch, one of the most shocking movie of all time, or at least at the time.So Good on so many levels - Chucky
Not that I have a thing against gay people; more power to them, it's just that I am not. In that way, I actually empathized with Fergus when he finally undressed the sultry woman that he'd been sucking face with all week and seeing that she was in reality a he. The brief but graphic glimpse of the harshness of the war between the IRA and Britain and the richness between diverse communities and the interpersonal dynamics makes this a deep, intelligent film that begs introspective.
I will watch this film againLove/Hate - Jer-
Lots of people absolutely love this movie. I found it to be a very very slow moving drama. I could really get into the story or feel involved with the characters. Maybe I will have to try to give it another shot sometime but for now, it just wasn't my type of movie. Oh well.
