In "a comedy adventure with lots of heart" (Los Angeles Times), Macaulay Culkin portrays the world's wealthiest youngster, likable but isolated, who has everything except friends - until he hits it of with some sandlot kids. He'll need their help when a scheming advisor (john Larroquette) plots to dispose of Richie's parents (Edward Herrmann and Christine Ebersole) and plunder the family vault. It's all such exciting fun even the world's richest kid can't afford to miss it!

I wanted my children to see this movie. I remember watching Richie Rich growing up and loved it. This is good clean humour, unlike the TV shows and movies out today. Although it is quite far fetched it is great family fun. I would recommend this for family viewing and it is the type of movie that allows for conversation with the children later. What would you do if you were that rich, or how would you handle having your parents go missing?ahhhh the memories - Jared
I'm pretty much renting this more for memories, i remember when this came out it was like the greatest movie of all time(okay so i'm still sort of a kid) but i remember watching this and thinking how cool it'd be to be richie. All in all the story is meh. but for a kids movie it's defenetly good, as an adult now and wathcing it you realise what kind of stuff is considered great back then and really how it's not, the story's are out there to say the least and charecters are 1 demensianal and predicable at best, it's your basic good versus evil kids triumph even tho the adults don't think anyhting is wrong kind of movie but as a kid it's great, it's the fact there rich!
