Not conventional enough for my taste - Cricri7
If you are a fan of the Ramones, but not a die hard fan, and know them a bit then this is not the documentary for you. You should zip The end of the century if you want to learn a bit more about The Ramones. This documentary is for people who already know a lot about them and just want to see footage of shows and footage of the backstage access of a world tour. It is too much like a home video for me.
I prefer the conventional documentaries where a journalist will interview the members and where we learn about their history. This is not the case here. You only get their footage without a narrator explaining us things or telling us about the group members and things like that. Zip it only if you don't mind those things.Interesting DVD, legendary band - Coconut_Willy
Having been a fan of the Ramones since they started making records, I am always pleased to see or hear them in any shape or form. Any fan will agree that the ultimate Ramones experience is to see or hear them live and this is what this DVD tries to deliver. It mostly contains concert sequences filmed at different periods of their career interspersed with home-movie style sequences mostly filmed while on tour. It also gathers numerous TV appearances including their induction in the Rock'n'Roll hall of fame.
In my opinion, an excellent DVD if you want to see the Ramones in concert; I would have liked to also see the few videos that they made but the disc is already quite packed. If you are looking more for a documentary with interviews, End of the Century is also excellent.Great concert footage - Dude_Stone
A great documerntary especially since it was produced by one of the original member of the Ramones (marky). the sound quality in some "interview" segments is poor, the concert footage is top-notch tho. who knew that these guys drew rabid fans who would mob them and quite possibly tear them apart if they could get their hands on the band. i knew the Ramones were popular but not as much as this. it was my first documentary on the band and have to say it was put together well. definitely worth renting, if not owning.
