Man of the House
Texas Ranger Roland Sharp (Tommy Lee Jones) finds himself college bound when he's tapped to protect a boisterous group of University of Texas cheerleaders -- who happen to be the only witnesses to a federal snitch's murder. To keep an eye on them, Sharp goes undercover as their assistant coach, a job that requires him to live with them and master the art of choreography ... with hilarious results.

Man of the House is a story about a Texas Ranger who is assigned to guard the witnesses to a murder. The witnesses are a squad of high school cheerleaders.
Jones plays a tough, introverted, cynical law man who tries to control an protect a handful of some of the most energetic, out-going young women all while keeping the arrangement a secret.
The film is entertaining and the contrast between a quiet, middle-aged Jones and the young, cheerful women makes for good comedy. The film is well paced and the actors play their roles well.
The only area in which I felt the movie lacked was in drama. There is some effort to give depth to the characters and that's good. But the film always stops a step short of having a truly heartfelt moment. Maybe this was done to keep the movie light, but I think a touch more drama would have rounded things off and turned a good movie into a great one.
Over-all, a pleasant way to pass an hour and forty minutes.A pleasant surprise - pfaulkner
You are never going to confuse this movie with "cinema" but you might find yourself, like me, very pleantly surprised.
As much as I might like Tommy Lee Jones there was something about the pairing with cheerleaders and Cedric the entertainer that led me to believe, I would walk away from the TV and leave my husband to enjoy.
And, while it is not art by any stretch of the imagination the characters have depth, yes even the cheerleaders, and one is mildly enteratined.Typical fish out of water comedy - Katie333
This movie was predictable from beginning to end. The storyline may be a bit hard to 'believe' but it played out as I expected it to. My expectations were low and they were met or maybe even exceeded a little. I like Tommy Lee Jones and wish he was still making higher quality films, but he managed to charm me here nonetheless. Throw in some funny moments as an aging Texas Rangers attempts to relate to a bunch of bouncy cheerleaders, and it was watchable throughout.
