Frank does a great dracula - Ziegler
Positive: Excellent acting by Frank langella, I knew this guy is a shoe in for the count. Excellent cast and cinematography, seriously creepy in some parts especially Mina coming after van Helsing in the graveyard.
Negative: Well I found the movie typical and bland in some parts. The usual dracula yarn.
Conclusion: Good and solid drac pic.Dracula as a tragic figure - Alucard
Some people don't like this version but I do. Frank Langella turns in an excellent performance as the Transylvanian Count (based on the play he performed on Broadway). This version emphasizes the seductive nature of the vampire rather than its revulsion. I enjoyed this approach. After all, this is one of the main attractions of vampires to begin with. We both fear them and yet are compelled to be near them. All in all a good film made even better with John Williams (he of Star Wars fame) rousing score.Wrong Dracula - kav2001c
I dont know what this is but its not the Dracula I had been expecting. No Bela Lugosi or Bram Stoker or... just a bunch of things Ive never heard of from late 70s. Not worth the rental and I regret getting this one.
Frank Langelia & Sir Laurance Olivier give this dvd some star power at least, Im just not in mood for this version now.
