Hostage
Every Second Counts
Devastated by an unspeakable tragedy while on the job as a hostage negotiator for the LAPD, Jeff Tally (Bruce Willis) resigns and accepts a low-profile job as the chief of police in the sleepy town of Bristo Camino in Ventura County. On a slow Monday morning Talley's job becomes anything but quiet and sets him on a course that could change not only his professional but personal life forever.
When three delinquent teenagers follow a family home, intending to steal their car, they get more than they bargained for. The trio finds themselves trapped in a multi-million dollar compound on the outskirts of town with no way of escape. Panicked, they take the family hostage, placing Talley in a situation he never wanted to face again.

This was an excellent movie. It holds the viewer’s attention because it is full of suspense.
Three men spot an SUV that they want to steal so they follow the owner home. It quickly turns into a hostage taking. One of the nervous young thieves becomes trigger happy.
There are many twists and turns in this exciting story. One of them is that the thieves are unaware that the homeowner is involved in organized crime.
If you like a fast paced, suspenseful crime story, then you will like this one.Entertaining...worth watching. - pjk-
Was expecting a much slower movie and was actually surprised by the entertainment value. The movie holds a few twists but is very predictable. A typical Bruce Willis shoot em up type film. If you liked Die Hard, you should like this film. Ultimally an entertaining movie and worth watching if you are a Bruce Willis fan.Surprisingly Good. - T-Bar
Like most other reviewers I was pleased with this movie. It sets up a conventional scenario and then ratchets up the whole thing. There are hostages and Bruce Willis is going to save them but the plot complication deepens the viewer's involvement.
I think the character of Mars goes too far into the baroque but Willis, who I like, is steady and convincing. The violence is jarring at times but this is a tough movie with no easy answers. Ignore the occasional plot loophole and enjoy.
