Strong young cast deliver this movie! thumbs up! - YPlovesmovies
I really liked this movie. It a controversial theme for sure, and it's scary to think how often this actually probably happens to rich spoiled, BORED, teenagers in L.A. and other parts of U.S.. scary stuff!
Eventhough Anne Hathaway really shines and stands otu in this movie (i wish she'd pick more roles like this and Rachel Getting Mareied), I thought the entire young cast actually was terrific!! Bijou Phillips played a damaaged insecure character really well!!Doesn't live up - footnote
The “unrated” billing is misleading. This is an edited version of the much hyped limited released theatrical version of Havoc. The film’s only strength is Anne Hathaway. Her charisma and screen presence so dominate this weak movie she might as well have performed her role on an empty sound stage. The attempted moralizing in this film gets lost though the stereotypical portrayal of east-central Los Angeles life. The lack of character development left me confounded. Much of the events occurred with little or no background premise. The generic “16th street” gang was a typical Hollywood portrait of Mexican-American thugs. The cartoonish rich white boy gang was laughable. Havoc, unrated but edited, is neither enlightening nor entertaining. It is simply a waste of time.Good movie - Shelly
Certainly a far cry from the Princess Diaries for Ann Hathaway! This was very in your face and dark. Sex, drugs, violence, gangs, nudity just about everything all rolled up into one. If you have teenagers do NOT watch this movie! You will never let them leave the house! This movie is a played up version of what happens to kids who have too much time and too much money on their hands and have decided they are bored with their "regular" life and want some excitement.
