Casim is a second generation Pakistani from Glasgow. Working as a DJ in Glasgow's coolest venues, Casim dreams of buying his own club.
A teacher at his sister Tahara's school, Roisin is different from any girl he's ever met. She's gorgeous, intelligent, and definitely possesses a mind of her own. She and Casim soon fall deeply in love. But sparks fly as cultures clash and personalities collide.

C'est définitivement pas le meilleur de Ken Loach mais ce n'est pas une perte de temps. Au lieu de confrontations politiques, on a droit à une rencontre de 2 cultures très différentes et à un choc des générations. Definitely a movie for adults with adult themes and family tension just like all families deal with. Great look at the pressures from the old world meeting the modern. Well acted and written this is a film for couples. Yes turn on subtitles and get a dose of the Scots languageInteresting - Muse
Having lived in a Muslim country with frequent romance clashes between Muslim and Christians I understood well the conflicts of this movie. Even if it appears Muslim parents manipulating their children, one has to really have understood the religious and heritage background of the characters before rating this movie. I found it interesting because in our modern society this type of cultural clash will happen often.
