Beaches
Some Friendships Last Forever
They met on a beach when they were very young, brassy C.C. Bloom (Bette Midler) and classy Hillary Whitney (Barbara Hershey). Through good times and bad times, through broken marriages and budding careers, they still had each other. And together, they would face their greatest challenge -as only best friends could.
Hershey is splendid, and Midler will astound you all over again with her comedic and musical talents in this critically acclaimed box office smash. Beaches glows with warmth, humor, and tenderness...This is one friendship you'll enjoy every minute of.

This tale tells of two childhood friends and how their paths cross again years later. When one of them is told she is dying and doesn't have long to live - the dynamic that plays out is emotion filled. She also has a little girl which complicates things further.
If you have not seen this film, it is well worth watching. By the way, it is not a chick flick. Man or woman, you will enjoy this film!I love this movie - eyewitness
'Beaches' is the best story of lifelong friendship I have ever seen. It tells the story of two girls who meet when they are 11 years old and end up being there for one another through thick and through thin. While they rarely live in the same city ‘Beaches’ shows very realistically how the women cycle through phases of being inseparable and growing apart, supporting each other through life’s continuous struggles.
Every actor who has a part in this film delivers a performance so mesmerising that you are literally flooded with emotion as you watch it. From the innocent boardwalk-beginning to the bittersweet ending, this is a movie that will make you laugh and cry and will touch every piece of your heart. “Beautiful” doesn’t even come close to describing it. If you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend that you do.A new kind of romance - pezliz
A great film that captures the evolution of friendship over time, and reflects on the lines that blur with romance, class and wealth, family and friendship. A great story with the added bonus of Bette Midler's colourful character and wonderful voice. A timeless friendship movie.
