A Stone's Throw from Annie - Piknik
If you can get beyond a thick layer of cheese, such as a rock star who goes by the name of Zink, then there are some redeeming moments in "Amy" that mostly are to do the relationships in the street that mother & daughter settle into in Melbourne. I preferred the earlier parts of the film when Amy didn't sing because once she does the 'feel good' moments start to multiply in a Disneyesque kinda way. If it weren't for the abusive father down the street, "Amy" would almost be a safe family film.suspend your disbelief a little - clementine
I love Rachel Griffiths. I probably would never have given this movie a chance if she wasn't in it, and on the whole I'm glad I did. The storyline isn't realistic, but it's engaging and becomes more and more appealing throughout. The quirky characters and the unorthodox behaviour necessitated by Amy's condition are very entertaining, and the ending is slightly cheesy but ultimately uplifting. Give this movie a chance.
