Remember Me, My Love
Some loves are never forgotten.
Gabrielle Muccino's bittersweet drama delves into the lives and loves of a modern Italian family whose individual aspirations pull at the seams of their increasingly fragile bonds. As their children come of age and begin to follow their own dreams, Carlo (Fabrizio Bentivoglio) finds himself torn between his marriage to Giulia (Laura Morante) and a passionate affair with Alessia (Monica Bellucci), while Guilia must face her own buried desires.

the film from beginning to end has lots of yelling and speedy dialogue, and hand gesturing.i was imagining the actors drinking red bull and gulping down double espressos between scenes.i feel like the film needed to take a breath or have some quiet scenes mixed in to balance things.the theme was interesting...people who are all looking for something and are very restless.it was a good watch, a bit shallow but still interesting.remember me, my love - binky
this is a fast-paced - so fast paced, the speed-reading course I took definitely came in handy (I had to read the subtitles as I don't speak Italian) modern-day drama of the complicated needs of the nuclear family. Other than the bare necessities of providing food, shelter and education - what really does the trick is self-fulfillment and creativity, oh, and the passion that comes with self-fulfillment and creativity.
There is not a moment of boredom in this film. I could not draw myself away from it even though I had something in the oven. I could not help loving every flawed character, every self-centred decision made - they all rang so true and so clear. I'm going to hold the message up in front of myself as I keep procrastinating what I need to do to feel fullfilled creatively.Honest and Unapologetic - Rixxx
Every character in Remember Me, My Love is flawed in his or her own way. As such, you may dislike some of the characters. However, you may also relate to them in a visceral way.
The film was written by Marcello Daciano, Gabriele Muccino and Heidrun Schleef, which is befitting because the film offers many different perspectives into the complicated ways of marriage and happiness. The film presents the brutal truth of self-involvement, selfish love and, finally, the falsehood of relationships. In the end, we cast a fake smile and pose for pictures that barely reflect our inner thoughts. Wonderfully directed and performed, Remember Me, My Love is a great film that serves as a great introduction to contemporary Italian cinema.
