Although FIST was initially Jimmy Hoffa's life story (changed after producer's couldn't obtain proper rights), Stallone breaks the stigma of an action star with this performance. His portrayal of a teamster's boss rise to fame works well within the context of the film and the cinematography ranks amongst Jewison's best. If you're expecting Stallone's thrill-a-minute action films, skip this one. If you're looking for a story with strong characters and stories, this could impress you.
