Gene Simmons: Speaking In Tongues
Gene Simmons, arguably the most opinionated man in music, offers a fascinating look at... himself! Following Gene on his speaking engagements in Australia, Speaking In Tongues is Gene speaking his mind of his favorite topics - money, success, KISS, fame, and of course, girls! The man certainly has a way with words, and whether you love him or hate him you can't deny him (100 million records sold is hard to argue with).
Some of the more memorable quotes from our favorite Demon include:
"Women are from Mars. Men have Penis."
"Cash will buy love."
"Money is not the root of all evil. LACK of money is the root of all evil!"
"I am selfish. I love myself."
Gene Simmons' Speaking In Tongues is a fascinating look at rock n' roll's favorite a**hole

He is one odd little ducky - Blob
If you have been watching his "Family Jewels" show also available on zip IIRC, there really isn't much new.
For that matter there isn't all that much content in the DVD. You get a glimpse of what makes him tick, some good, some interesting and some rather sad. Even if you are not a fan, it is a different outlook.
He does seem to get some of his facts wrong though.classic American rags to riches story - fraz2
The story of Gene Simmons is a classic rags to riches tale: poor Jewish immigrant works extremely hard, buys into the notion of the "American Dream" hook, line, and sinker, has some good luck along the way, and is rewarded with the type of untold riches and happiness that only American society can provide.
Gene Simmons is a mediocre musician in a popular but critically maligned band. His real strength is his business acumen. He works tirelessly promoting himself and his products. He is excellent at branding and marketing all things related to "KISS" and Gene Simmons. His loyal fans have helped make him rich but it's Gene's love of money that has motivated him to succeed.
This disc features Gene Simmons on a speaking tour of Australia where he shares his philosophy on life with the audience. Gene's message is work hard, be selfish, live by your own rules, don't use drugs or alcohol, don't get married (unless you're a woman), love your mother, and enjoy life.
On the disc we learn that Gene loves working, Shannon Tweed, his children, big breasts, rock and roll, "KISS", his mother, and most importantly, himself. He's an interesting character and the disc does a very good job showcasing Gene's life and likes. Recommended.less then i wanted to hear - Wile2k
I've read both of his books and was infatuated with his take on life. To the point that some of his life lessons have made my life better. I hoped this would have been more of the same expanding on what he talks about in his book. Emphasizing the tricks of the trade he has used. But its more like a this is my life and here is a tiny view of it.
I really wish it would have been more gene on business and life lessons then the vague tidbits he gives almost being that you get this snipit and go buy my book to read the rest. I can almost guarantee that the people who paid to be there already read his books. So he should have been expanding on what he touched on in the books.
