Samantha: An American Girl Holiday
Samantha is a prim and proper, but free-spirited, Victorian little girl when she moves in with her grandmother (Mia Farrow) on her country estate. She soon makes friends with neighbour girl, Nellie, and is introduced to another world, outside of her upper-class upbringing.

Great Family Movie - EcoMom
This is a great Christmas movie for the whole family. Good for kids ages 5-12. Acting isn't fabulous but the story is a heart warming Christmas story. Very clean with a great message. My kids watched it four times before we returned it. Even the Grandparents liked it!Fun for the kids - amaryllis
Except for changing a few minor details Samantha:An American Girl is true to the books. The acting by AnnaSophia Robb, Mia Farrow, Rebecca Mader and others is great, the costumes are beautiful, the settings are splendid. Yet the movie version doesn't quite capture the excitement and romance of the book series. Still the movie is interesting. Samantha's parents have died and she's being raised by her grandmother, with the help of her uncle and his new wife. It is an enjoyable feel-good movie (that might bring a tear to your eye). Fun and appropriate for the kids.
