Beauty Shop
You thought you'd heard it all in the barbershop, but you haven't heard anything yet - the women get their own chance to shampoo, shine, and speak their minds in Beauty Shop. From the filmmakers that brought you Barbershop and Barbershop 2, Queen Latifah stars as Gina, a hairstylist who opens a shop of her own. Inheriting an opinionated group of stylists, a colourful clientele and a sexy upstairs neighbour, Gina proves that you can't keep a good woman down - and you can't keep a shopful of outrageous women from speaking their minds!

My wife rented this film from a convenience store?
In this case it was true. And what is also true is that this 'film' was a true waste of time. For a comedy, it was unoriginal (very predictable, black girl opens salon 'material'), plodding, rarely funny and features a uniquely painful performance by Kevin Bacon playing a Spanish salon owner, who for some reason, has a very annoying german accent and an even sillier wig (that should have been released in Central Park).
Queen Latifah, who has done some very good comedic acting before, is really left one-dimensional with the bad writing and equally blah cast around her. A film like this could have done anything and gone anywhere, but instead it ended up looking like a film you'd rent in a convenience store.Good for a laugh or two - tracyvansmith
This was a nice movie Not Great but well worth renting and watching. This movie does not have a lot of big laughs, but it is not slow and boring. I would not go out and buy the movie but it is worth putting on your zip list and have a quite evening being entertained.Met Expectations - McInnes
This movie delivered what the previews promised: fun and light entertainment. Kevin Bacon was hysterically funny (his acting range never ceases to amaze me), and Queen Latifah was as charming as ever. If you want to be taken away from all of your problems for an hour and forty-five minutes, then you should sit down with your bowl of popcorn and relax with this movie.
