Father Of The Pride: The Complete Series
Not Your Kids' Cartoon!
From DreamWorks animation comes the first primetime CGI-animated series with a feature film quality look to it. Each episode costs $1.6 million and 9 months to make.
This CGI-animated series is about a family of white lions who work as performers in the Las Vegas act of illusionists Siegfried & Roy.
The show stars Larry, a hard-working white lion in the revue with his wife Kate, a white lioness. Sarmoti, another white lion who is Kate's father - and Larry's father-in-law - clashes with Larry on every subject imaginable. Rounding out the group is Snack, a mischievous gopher and Larry's best friend.

Father Of The Pride: The Complete Series - itstheit
Sigfried & Roy are interesting enough to warrant a series, in fact, they (deftly portrayed by David Herman and Julian Holloway as pampered, self-centered knuckleheads) are the only redeeming elements in this tired 'Honeymooners' retread. Fan as I am of John Goodman and Carl Reiner's previous work, basing 80% of each episode of the supposed antics of the animals S & R train, I fear, is squandering the grandest of opportunities.
Lame, cliched sitcom writing doesn't help the cause, though, to its credit, the animation is first-rate (thankfully, all the episodes are on one DVD, so anyone unfortunate to rent it can get it all over with in one sit; ironically, the only half-decent episode on the disc is the one in the 'bonus features' section, rendered entirely in pencil sketches). Not a kids/adult show - uolliac
This was an adult show that looked like a kids show, and I suspect that's why it failed. There were too many sex jokes for kids to watch, and the characters were too cuddly for parents to take seriously. Roy's mauling brought some attention to the show, but it wasn't enough to get people to tune in, and the show was over shortly before it aired. Sure, they aired most of the episodes, but you knew the network had written it off and they were just burning off what they had in the can. This is the second "failed" CGI show aimed at adults I've seen in a week; maybe the CGI stories are better told on the big screen.its a shame - Geoff
The show had some signs of light (other then backgrounds done for Zig/Roy). Instead of trying to be edgey the show tried to be Rosanne with the occasional visit from the comedy relief. Thee writers should have watched Larry,Darryl, & Darryl to know how to write a good walk on!
