A Breath Of Scandal
They can change her local, but they can't change her ways! Exiled from her familial estate for "scandalous indiscretions," amorous Austrian Princess Olympia (Sophia Loren) turns her attentions to a handsome American stranger (John Gavin) and finds that the attraction is mutual...but the romantic complications are many.
Maurice Chevalier costars, bringing his touch of charm to this lighthearted romance. And, as a scheming countess, Angela Lansbury provides icy snap. Rivaling the stars for their attention are the elaborate costumes and sumptuous decor of the 1907 Viennese society settings. Here's to love - and to Vienna!

This is a fine Molnar play not very well adapted for the screen. Loren is good as usual but the plot is stale and not as funny as it could have been.
Always a pleasure watching Chevalier. He sings the main song in his inimitable way and for that precious moment we are enraptured.
Instead of playing this trump card, the plot and the director involve us in the tedious love affair.
We scream for more Chevalier and they give us Gavin and Lansbury.
The actress playing the mother is very good.
But without Chevalier this movie is almost nothing.
